(Webinar) “Licensing and civil penalties” on Thursday 10 September 2020

Join Jonathan Manning, Barrister at 4-5 Gray's Inn Square & Robin Stewart, Senior Associate at Anthony Gold on Thursday 10 September 2020 from 4.30pm as they guide you through the topics of licensing and civil penalties.

The FREE webinar will be chaired and moderated by Dean Underwood, SHLA Committee Member and Barrister at Cornerstone Barristers.

Jonathan Manning is going to cover current issues in licensing under the Housing Act 2004. This will include a discussion of charging fees for licences, the current government’s approach to giving consent to new licensing schemes, and how COVID is affecting licensing.

Robin Stewart will focus on civil penalties for landlord and agents under the Housing Act 2004, and will be covering recent Upper Tribunal caselaw on setting the amount of penalties, and discussing ways for local authorities to use the civil penalty powers to their full potential.
